Walgreens
  • Walgreens is another great way to “buy” things free or at great discounts using their Register Rebate (RR) program. How it works: buy at item listed in their ad as earning RR, initially pay out of pocket for the item(s), and earn the RR, which is like having “Walgreens dollars” to spend on another transaction.
  • Walgreens Things to REMEMBER:
Do not use your RR to re-buy the exact same item that earned you the RR initially or have the same manufacturer.
  • Use only as many RR and coupons as items that you are buying, i.e. you buy 5 items, you can only use 5 total RR and item coupons.
  • Use the weekly ad to verify the Month or Weekly RR Deals to ensure that your purchase is correct for the RR.
  • Use your RR before they expire!! Plan your purchases and include $1 or less filler items to ensure a workable scenario.
  • Always try to “roll” your RR for other RR earning products.

Rite Aid

  • Shopping Rite Aid provides great rebates for products. Their rebate program is called Single Check Rebate, because you receive your rebate in the form of a single check at the end of each month. You must report your receipts online and request your check at the end of every month or lose your rebate. Rite Aid will mail your rebate in the form of a check.
  • Rite Aid also has other promotions for additional gift certificates and rebates. They too only require reporting your receipt online by the end of the month.
  • Rite Aid is great for free products if you can pay the out of pocket expense and wait on the rebate check. Combine manufacturer’s coupons with the Single Check Rebate Items to actually MAKE MONEY from shopping at Rite Aid.
  • Try to group your purchases by $25 (total before coupons) to take advantage of the $5 off $25 coupons that you will be given with your coupon match ups. After giving the clerk the $5/$25, give your remaining coupons for added discounts. You may end up doing 3 or 4 separate transactions for the best deal.

CVS

  • Try to group your purchases by $20 or $25 (total before coupons) to take advantage of the $4/$20 or $5/$25 coupons that you may have. After giving the clerk the $4/$20 coupon, give your remaining coupons for added discounts.
  • Make sure your purchase total is slightly more than the ECBs that you will use - ECBs can cover your subtotal, while you pay the tax out of pocket.
  • With CVS you can stock your medicine, bathroom and make-up cabinets for cheap to completely free! Be careful with the limits (usually limit 1) as you will only receive an ECB for up to the limit amount.
  • Keep you eye out for MONEY MAKERS! The items that earn full value ECB while you have a coupon to reduce the purchase price.
